The RC insurance and the LAA

(Insurance on Accidents Act) do not offer 
a total cover.

With the insurance on passengers, your passengers and you are really well covered.

What is insurance on passengers ?

It is an insurance covering the expenses due to wounds of those who were in the ensured vehicle at the time of an accident.

It usually entitles you to (but not always):

• a contribution in case of death

• a contribution in case of disability

• a daily contribution in case of a temporary incapacity to work

• a daily contribution in case of hospitalization

• the payment of the medical expenses

All the passengers can be ensured whatever their family link with the policy-holder is. However, the companies propose several formulas where it is specified who is covered (the driver and all passengers, the passengers only, the driver only, etc.) Of course, they will be covered if they occupied the car at the time of the accident, but also while getting in or out of the car, while handling it (for example by pushing it in case of breakdown), during the cleaning and maintenance work and when they give assistance to other people implicated in an accident. The insurance also covers the people who would be wounded while giving you assistance after an accident, except if they are professional first-aid workers (firemen, police officers, etc).
